Pushchair Pitstop is a volunteer run – donation-based group located in St Edmunds church, Langer Road, Felixstowe.
Everything we have is donated to us for FREE by the public, so everything is rehomed for FREE!
Pushchair Pitstop was started by Reverend Penny Brinkley, backed by Reverend Andrew Dotchin, with a simple vision in mind of helping the local community, and It began with just a few boxes of baby clothes...
During the pandemic, Pushchair Pitstop had moved to the meeting room in St John the Baptist, and this was where word quickly spread and more baby items were generously donated...
Post pandemic, it was decided that Pushchair Pitstop would be moved back to St Edmunds church and today has continued to flourish from there.
Not only do we now house baby clothes… but we also stock items such as buggies, nappies, milk, toys, books, games, blankets, shoes and electricals, and our clothing size currently ranges from bump (maternity) to Adults... so there is something for everyone!
Also NEW to us this year is our Pitstop pantry! We believe that no one in this day and age should go hungry, so anyone is welcome to pop in and grab some food!
Pushchair Pitstop is not only recognised as a ‘free shop’, but it is also a meeting place where people are welcome to just pop in for a cuppa and a chat.
We also hold several free events throughout the year. Our annual events are our Summer and Christmas parties, and they are always a hit. During these events we host games, serve free hot food, play music, enjoy crafts and try to raise funds by Tombola & hamper stalls.
Christmas 2022 we also introduced an Amazon Wishlist and we were fortunate enough to be able to invite 110 children to see Father Christmas himself and receive a toy, and a further 100 gifts sent to local families.
In the last 12 months Pushchair Pitstop has gone from strength to strength… and will continue to do so with HUGE thanks to our wonderful team of volunteers, and of course every single person that donates to us.
Our visitors are advised to take a maximum of 2 bags a day (excluding larger items) and rarely ever go away empty handed.
There is absolutely NO criteria to use our service, and everyone is welcome with no judgements or questions asked. 😊

Our current opening times are Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays 9am-12pm and alternate weekend days 10am-2pm.
